Engineering

SOA Architect

We are currently looking for an outstanding and visionary software development engineer who can help us design and build the next generation of our systems, delivering dramatically increased functionality, performance, scalability, and flexibility.

You should be somebody who enjoys working on systems software, isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty, is customer-centric, and feels strongly not only about building great software but about running that software in the real world. You will have end-to-end ownership of — and responsibility for— the systems you build.

In this role, you will produce both working code and deliver high level architecture leadership. You will participate in all aspects of the development lifecycle, from design to development to deployment and on-going enhancement. You will be expected to contribute to user-interface, workflow, and algorithm design, application architecture, and implementation of web-based user interfaces, highly-available workflow management applications, and reliable APIs which will be used to integrate with network elements, billing, and business intelligence systems

Your responsibilities will include technical discussions with customers and third party organizations. You will maintain medium to high level of visibility across the Product Group and work with other development groups to ensure end to end architectural, functional and protocol consistency

Qualifications

  • Practical experience with software engineering practices and refactoring existing software.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems and multi threaded programming (Do you know what SOA is and how to make it work? Can you write a service from the ground up without using any framework?).
  • Applied analysis, design and architecture patterns.
  • Used various software development methodologies such as Tomcat, Struts, Javascript, JSP, JSTL, XML, SOAP, REST, HTTP, Spring, JIBix, JAXB.
  • Experience must also involve advanced data structures, API/service interface development and web development.
  • Experience developing and operating medium to large sized software systems.
  • Self directed and capable of working in a dynamic environment.
  • BS in Computer Science. MS or Phd preferred.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of wired and wireless network architectures.
  • Knowledge of network management protocols.
  • Knowledge of Unix, xml/http protocols, publish/subscribe technologies, or n-tier web-based distributed systems and localization issues, and their use in a massively scalable environment.
  • Solid experience working in Agile and iterative methodologies.
  • Good Object Oriented Analysis and Design skills.
  • Designed and built highly concurrent, high throughput web services based on deep understanding of the performance impacts of alternative threading architectures including thread per connection and event-based mechanisms. 
  • Designed and built high throughput caching systems, cache coherency algorithms, streaming, or eventually consistent systems.

Sr. Software Engineer (Customer Centric Engineering)

We are looking for high caliber senior software engineer to join InnoPath Software. This is a senior technical position requires proven WebLogic development and deployment skill and experience and excellent project management and leadership. This challenging position offers the right candidate an opportunity to work with a talented group of technical professionals and apply your technical expertise and stay innovative to address the fast-pace evolution of the mobile industry.

Responsibilities:

As a senior software engineer, this person has the responsibility (and not limited) to:

  • Lead solution assessment and large scale J2EE (WebLogic Server) application deployment architecture discussions.
  • Participate in all phases of development, QA, and deployment, especially dealing with reproducing and addressing findings from load testing, integration testing and performance engineering.
  • Leverage your deep expertise of WebLogic Server development experience to diagnosis and address customer reported issues and recommend and/or implement product design changes.
  • Define common processes and procedures to ensure server stability, performance and availability.
  • Establish standards in setup, configuration and monitoring of WebLogic Server and associated services for InnoPath Mobile Device Management applications to run in multiple nodes, multiple instances, standalone, and cluster deployments
  • Performance tuning of WebLogic Server and Operating System to achieve the best throughput and response time under heavy load and large number of concurrent sessions.
  • Establish change management process for software and configuration patches, updates, and fixes

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of WebLogic Server development and large scale deployment experience
  • Deep knowledge of WebLogic clustering technologies and administration
  • Hands on experience configuring WebLogic SSL, JMS, JDBC multi data sources
  • Hands on upgrade experience with major and minor versions of WebLogic Sever
  • Development experience using script languages and WebLogic WSLT
  • Working experience in monitoring and diagnosing production WebLogic servers

Highly Desirables:

  • Familiarity with Oracle database and fluent in SQL
  • Understanding of UNIX internals, preferably Solaris
  • Familiarity with network protocols, such as TCP/IP, HTTP, SNMP
  • Java or C/C++ development experience a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer or equivalent. Graduate degree a plus

Marketing

Sr. Manager / Director, Product Marketing

Primary Functions:

The Sr Mgr / Director role combines corporate marketing strategy and day-to-day marketing activities. This individual will report to the Vice President of Marketing and be responsible for leading the positioning, packaging and promotion of Innopath’s ActiveCare customer care solution to the marketplace.

Key responsibilities include :

  • This person will influence the overall marketing strategy and drive marketing efforts globally, supporting the Sales teams and extending the corporate marketing function to the field through customer and partner contact.
  • Lead marketing planning and strategy working closely with the VP and other key groups; including Sales, Product Management and Business Development, as well as working closely with our operator customers on their customer care requirements. The goal will be to effectively communicate our unique ActiveCare value proposition to senior management within mobile operators.
  • Lead the development and support the execution of integrated marketing plans that support defined marketing and sales goals. Plans will include: business analysis, the creation of sales tools inc. written collateral, events, bylines/blogs, and interaction with our PR firm.
  • Report on metrics and team success with clear analysis and communication on what worked, what didn’t work and next steps.
  • Constant assessment of the competitive landscape to evolve strategy, and position InnoPath as a first mover, rather than a follower.
  • A team player that sets realistic objectives and manages expectations of all constituencies, he/she will demonstrate an aptitude for delivering quick successes in line with the company vision.

Education/Skills Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8+ years in the telecommunications industry with over 50% of the time in a CRM/care focused assignment. This could include a systems company developing CRM/care applications or a frontline care organization at an operator. Mobile experience preferred though not required.
  • Proven analytical ability. Must be savvy and passionate about numbers, market indicators and metrics, and must have the appropriate financial management experience and analytical skills to translate hard data into strategic plans.
  • Excellent oral, listening, and written communications skills.
  • Ability to make decisions in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment, to communicate rationale, and to identify and learn from mistakes and make necessary mid-course adjustments.
  • Ability to see big picture while effectively managing details and to identify critical issues and gather and lead resources to produce a rapid and appropriate resolution.
  • Excellent written and communications skills.
  • Extremely proactive with a strong bias for action.
  • BA/BS degree required. MBA/MS preferred.

Operations

Sr. IOT Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Senior IOT Engineer is responsible for performing and supporting IOT of InnoPath products to partners and direct customers.
  • These activities require a technical understanding of the customer's existing network/production environment, InnoPath and 3rd party products, focusing on planned implementation, staging and installation, including servers and client’s set-up and configuration.
  • The Senior IOT engineer is responsible for resolving InnoPath software technical issues and ensures 3rd party clients interoperate with InnoPath servers, 3rd party servers interoperate with InnoPath clients.
  • The Senior IOT Engineer is responsible for a variety of tasks that involve software installation, configuration, testing, and support including:
    • Installs InnoPath software on a variety of platforms, including Sun, HP UX.
    • Supports customer and partner base on mission-critical applications through telephone and web based applications, or on site visits.
    • Supports customer for server and client issue debug, troubleshooting and issue analysis. Based on the analysis result, be able to provide the solution to solve the issues.
    • Reviews operator’s documentation and requirements and develop the high quality IOT test plans.
    • Develop and maintain automation platform and test scripter
    • 24 x 7 IOT Servers maintenance.

Education and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor's or higher degree, with emphasis in Telecommunications, Computer Science or other technically related background.
  • Four or more years of relevant QA experience
  • Four or more years of mobile develop experience
  • Familiar with GSM/GPRS or CDMA
  • Knowledge of Web technologies with experience in automating test suites for both Web-based and server-side applications.
  • Database expertise.
  • Effective tracking, maintenance, and update of test cases and test suites.
  • Excellent analytical determination and problem solving skills.
  • Programming experience on scripting language (Shell, bash, Perl, Python)
  • Strong JAVA program experience.

Product Management

Sr. Product Manager – Mobile Device Software

Product Management responsibilities

We are seeking a successful product management professional to lead product strategy, definition and execution for InnoPaths mobile application software and its interaction with the ActiveCare server middleware. The candidate will provide leadership for the ActiveCare end-to-end product strategy, market requirement planning, customer experience, product positioning and implementation. The candidate will provide intense interaction with our customers, engineering, and operations to bring innovative device management products to market.

You will work to ensure that the resources, projects and R&D spending are aligned with the product strategy over product life cycle, and ensure engineering resources are levered into profitable products.

Main responsibilities for this position include:

  • Drive product roadmap for our ActiveCare mobile application suite
  • Design the on-device user interface and overall client-server interaction subscriber- or CSR user experience in focus
  • Identify market trends and work closely with our customers for how mobile operator customer care problems can be optimized through capabilities provided through the constant changing mobile device platform market
  • As a mobile application and software platform expert, act as InnoPath product champion and spokesperson.  

To integrate InnoPath client software into a mobile platform you will need to master application platform security, user interface capabilities, platform services and extensions as well as interfaces, additional run-time environments, OS platform certification. This individual will work with counterparts in the Product Marketing organization and team members in Product Line Management to set product agenda.         

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • A minimum of five years of product management experience and knowledge in mobile software, telecom and over-the-air technology.
  • Strong understanding of western world telecom.
  • Strong technical background and business sense with software knowledge in the mobile application space, and preferable on platforms like Apple iPhone, RIM/Blackberry, Open Handset Alliance Android, Java Mobile Edition, Symbian or Microsoft Windows Mobile
  • Self-starter, detail oriented, ability to think strategically and the ability to analyze and drive issues to conclusion.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to develop innovations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills including the ability to adapt messaging to target audience
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time.

The position will report directly to the Sr. Director of Product Line Management who reports to the CEO.

Quality Assurance

Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer

As Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, this person has the responsibility (and not limited) to:

  • Participate and lead one or more product quality initiatives.
  • Gather requirements, evaluate and define test strategy, test plan and create test case specification and measure to them with effective metrics and reports.
  • Create and automate test programs to not only validate the claimed functionality but to also try to “break” the product with the most creative approach.
  • Implement tools, processes and test automation to focus on the test content to bring the best performance, highest level of quality and the most ease-of-use products to market in the shortest possible time.
  • Work with development, product management, and operations to make sure specific test objective is achieved and provide a smooth transition from product release to global operations.
  • Providing feedback to development and product management to improves InnoPath’s product quality in an on-going basis.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years as Sr. Quality Engineer in software quality and testing organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and drive successful client/server product testing and be effective working in a distributed team environment.
  • Hands-on and passionate about product quality, testing, system architecture and usability.
  • Deep understanding of distributed system, client/server architecture, large scale deployment of internet-based applications and integration with backend systems.
  • Experience in testing mobile device and server management software
  • Scripting expertise with: Perl, Python, shell, Tcl, Ruby
  • OOP experience with C, C++ or Java on UNIX (Solaris preferred and Windows a plus)
  • Hands-on experience in configuring, installing and troubleshooting software and hardware
  • Load balance knowledge with leading network equipment
  • Understanding of at least two or more of the following application environment: Oracle, Veritas. Weblogic, Websphere, VMware
  • Team player who is as self starter with a can do attitude, and be able to acquire new technologies skill, and new product functionality pretty much on their own.
  • Excellent written, oral communications and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead and champion staff with a wide diversity in approach and methodology.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.

Highly Desirable

  • Knowledge of the wireless industry with practical experience in managing the quality and testing of handset and server solutions.
