InnoPath Joins IBM Partnerworld Industry Networks To Deliver On Demand Mobile Device Management Solutions

InnoPath and IBM Join Forces to Deliver Integrated Solutions to Manage Mobile Device Firmware Over-the-Air, or FOTA

SAN JOSE, Calif.—June 14, 2005—InnoPath Software, Inc. (formerly DoOnGo Technologies), a leader in over-the-air (OTA) mobile device management, today announced it has joined IBM’s PartnerWorld Industry Networks for Telecommunications to deliver targeted mobile solutions. Working with IBM, InnoPath will integrate its end-to-end device management solution, DeltaUpgrade Plus™, onto the IBM WebSphere platform.

Wireless operators and handset manufacturers worldwide will benefit from the combination of the companies’ industry-leading device management and application integration middleware to develop and deliver firmware over-the-air (FOTA) update capabilities. The two companies plan to co-sell and co-market the solution to wireless operators and handset manufacturers worldwide.

InnoPath’s DeltaUpgrade Plus device management solution keeps handset firmware current and functional by making it easy for wireless operators and handset manufacturers to update handsets whether they are in the factory, retail store, or the hands of subscribers. DeltaUpgrade Plus is a complete, end-to-end solution for firmware and software management, providing the flexibility to manage updates over-the-air, via direct cable connection, or on removable memory cards.

InnoPath’s device management solution lets operators and handset manufacturers reduce risk, accelerate time to market for new products and services, increase customer satisfaction and retention, lower operating costs, and increase revenue — offering a clear service differentiation. InnoPath not only gives wireless operators and handset manufacturers the ability to update and securely repair on-device firmware OTA, but also enables them to remotely configure settings, diagnose and repair handsets. With InnoPath’s device lifecycle management capabilities, operators and handset manufacturers can increase revenue and customer use of advanced data services, as well as reduce the cost of deploying these services.

By providing a complete, end-to-end solution, InnoPath’s device management solution offers a complete firmware update and device lifecycle management system to complement IBM’s software. Using industry standard protocols, InnoPath’s DeltaUpgrade Plus solution is an OMA (Open Mobile Alliance) compliant solution for firmware updates.

“We are pleased to join the PartnerWorld Industry Networks program to market and sell our joint solutions to customers targeted in the telecommunications industry,” said Dr. Luosheng Peng, CEO, co-founder and chairman of InnoPath Software. “Joining IBM’s PartnerWorld Industry Networks gives InnoPath the opportunity to leverage IBM’s technical expertise in enabling mobile operators and handset manufacturers to more quickly, easily and reliably deliver new features and capabilities over-the-air.”

“IBM and InnoPath are committed to meeting the needs of global operators,” said Buell Duncan, GM ISV and Developers Relations, IBM. “The combination of IBM’s open and flexible middleware with InnoPath’s proven mobile device management solution delivers a world-class solution for firmware updates and device lifecycle management.”

The IBM PartnerWorld Industry Networks provide ISVs with comprehensive business insight, technical resources, networking opportunities, and marketing and sales support designed to help them reach more customers and close deals faster. Participants in the PartnerWorld Industry Networks can team with IBM to bring on demand solutions to market more easily and to ensure these solutions meet specific industry needs, reflecting how customers buy technology today. ISVs who have attained one or more Industry Optimized competences have successfully integrated with on demand IBM infrastructure software and hardware and demonstrated success with customers in the industries they note.
